Nigeria international forward Samuel Chukwueze scored his second goal in the Copa Del Rey with the lone goal for his side in a 1-3 defeat against Espanyol which saw them crash out of the tournament on a 5-3 aggregate score.
Chukwueze who was rested in the first leg of the tie was handed a start at the RCDE Stadium and after several evading his markers with his fancy footworks he capped his first half performance with a trademark goal three minutes before the half time break.
A pass from Daniel Raba to Chukwueze saw the Nigerian cut in with his left foot in the right before angling a well placed shot into the net to bring scores to 2-1 as both teams head into the dressing room for the break.
The goal was the second the Nigerian is scoring in the competition with his other goal coming in the 3-3 draw against Almeria but the defeat means he will not play any further role in the tournament with his team crashing out after the 1-3 loss.
In what is his breakthrough season at Villarreal he has scored in all competitions he has played this season namely the La Liga, Europa League and Copa Del Rey with a tally of five goals in all the competitions mentioned above.
