The invitation of Valentine Ozornwafor to the senior national team of Nigeria by coach Gernot Rohr is a testament to the good work of coach of the U20 team of Nigeria Paul Aigbogun.
Three seasons ago while he was in charge of Enyimba, Aigbogun made Enyimba to sign the young defender after watching him play for a local side in a friendly game against his team.
He convinced the management of Enyimba to sign the teen left footed defender but he couldn’t register the defender as they were involved in CAF Confederation Cup games back then.
Upon his return to Enyimba he met the defender still at the team but yet to make his debut for the first team but due to his faith in the lanky defender he called him up to the U20 team of Nigeria following his appointment as coach.
Ozornwafor came to the fore at the recently concluded Africa U20 Cup of Nations and with Rohr watching the defender who was nominated in the CAF Best XI of the tournament was rewarded with a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria for the games against Seychelles and Egypt later this month.
