
A chance to push for a spot in the senior national team of Nigeria has been offered to Real Zaragoza midfielder James Igbekeme by coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr according to the player, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
In an interview monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team, the 24 year old who joined Zaragoza in the summer from second division Portuguese side Gil Vincente revealed Rohr told him he will be called up for one of the friendly games of the team before the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He has impressed a lot this season and already he is linked with a move to a top division side in the summer with his buy out clause pegged at 10 million euros on his contract which runs till 2022 m
With 25 league game and two more in the cup to his name, the 24 year old is viewed by the coach as part of his options in midfield with doubts surrounding the availability of Ogenyi Onazi who is injured and captain John Obi Mikel, who has not played for the team since the World Cup in Russia.
