The push to end the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers with a win will see the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr play his best players in the game later today, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
During yesterday’s team meeting, Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the coach told the players his intention which is to finish the qualifiers on a high with a convincing win against Seychelles even though they are already through to the championship, which will take place in Egypt.
Yesterday’s session saw the team rehearsed the 4-2-3-1 system which the coach is famous for although they sometimes alternated it with the 3-5-2 formation during the course of the session which lasted a little over an hour.
From all indication, Rohr will stick with his regular players for the game against Seychelles and most likely for the Egypt game as well. Although he could also hand debut to some newly invited players in the games.
According to the coach, the game against Seychelles will enable him assess the strength of some players who have fallen out of favour in the past few games due to the presence of others who are not available at the moment.
