Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Moses Simon has given his opinion about his goal for Nigeria in their 3-1 win over Seychelles yesterday in their final game in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers.

Simon was introduced for top striker Odion Ighalo with a little over five minutes to play and he made the best use of his time on the pitch to finish off a move in the box which helped Nigeria to a 3-1 win.

Since injury ruled him out of the World Cup, the Levante forward who dedicated his goal yesterday to his wife and daughter has lost his starting spot in the national team of Nigeria ‎but not the trust of coach Gernot Rohr.

Rohr although didn’t use him in any of his matchday squad in the games after the World Cup kept on inviting him as part of the team of players called up for games. Simon responded yesterday with a well taken goal.

” Henry ( Onyekuru) is like a brother to me. Before the game I explained to him the need for him to score after we were told he will be in the starting line up. Scoring is good for your confidence as a forward player”, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” When I was introduced I told myself same thing because just like Henry I also need a goal to get me going like I want to. Hopefully I will score more in the coming games”, he remarked.
