NPFL Teen Stars Nnochiri, Jibril Among New Names As U20 Step Up Preparations For WYC

The camp of the Nigeria U20 team who are preparing for the World Youth Championship presently has 21 players battling for positions in the team ahead of the start of the tournament.

Coach Paul Aigbogun is back in Nigeria from his vacation in England after leading the team to qualification for the World Youth Championship courtesy of their 4th place finish at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Among the new names in training is Heartland FC of Owerri boy wonder Samuel Nnochiri who has impressed mightily this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League with three goals to his name in his debut season.

Plateau United wing forward Saheed Jibril is also training with the team in Abuja with Aigbogun keen on bolstering his squad options on the flank particularly on the left side, where the team lack left footers in attack.

The duo are left footed players and also of same age of 17 with a similar statistics in the NPFL where they have both made their marks with several impressive performance this season.
