Ebuehi’s AFCON Hopes Boosted After Training For The First Time In Eight Months, Could Go On Loan

The chances of the Benfica right back Tyronne Ebuehi making the squad of the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations received a huge boost two days back, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Ebuehi joined Benfica in the summer on a free transfer from Dutch side ADO Den Haag after impressing for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia but an injury picked up in pre season has kept him out of the team.

Following a successful surgery and rehabilitation, the 23 year old ‎trained with the rest of the Benfica squad for the first time two days back and shared his joy with a post on his social media handle.

Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr said last week that he will send a fitness coach to work with the right full back to help improve and also gauge his fitness level before deciding on including him in his AFCON squad.

While he continue to push for his first official game, leaks picked up by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team has it that he could be sent on loan before the start of next season to a club where he is certain to get playing team to help his fitness level return to it’s best.
