Before the start of the season in Latvia, Zakari saw a move to African Champions Esperance collapsed due to disagreements over the mode of payment of his transfer fee after impressing during a two week trial at the club.
Back at Latvia he has caught the interest of teams like Slavia Prague, Slask Wroclaw, St. Gallen, FK Cracovia and the Belgium league duo of Genk and Standard Liege while Esperance are keen on having him in the summer after the failed attempt last time out.
A member of the victorious Nigeria U17 team of 2015, he was also a part of the U20 team of 2016 that failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and at a time signed for Tunisian side Sfaxien before their transfer ban scuttled the move when he turned 18.
