Highly rated Nigerian defensive midfielder Innocent Bonke showed his qualities with a man of the match display for his Swedish side Malmo in their 0-0 draw against IFK Gothenburg.
Bonke who got booked in the 33rd minute was on from start to finish to help his team to a precious point away from home and his performance saw him bag the official man of the match award for the game.
It was his first game and also first start of the season after nine games in the league with injury playing a role in his restricted game time at the club where he has spent the last two years.
A defensive midfielder by trade, he was up against highly rated 18 year old Nigerian midfielder Alhassan Yusuf in yesterday’s game and came out with his head up as his team consolidate their top position with the draw.
Targeted by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr he recently turned down a lucrative offer to move to Kairat of Kazakhstan and reports has it that couple of Chinese teams have been watching him with a view of a bid later in the summer.
