Victor Osimhen was earlier today crowned the player of the year for his loan team Charleroi after scoring 17 goals in all competitions for the modest Belgium side who are on the verge of qualifying for the Europa League.

Osimhen was presented with the award shortly before their game against Eupen which saw them run out 2-0 winners and also keep alive their push for a spot in next season Europa League.

The 20 year old who is on loan from Wolfsburg has taken the Belgium league by storm this season after spending 18 unhappy months in Germany, where he failed to score in 16 games.

His form in Germany has caught the attention of Italian Serie A side AC Milan with the San Siro outfit almost snatching him in January but he decided to remain at Charleroi till the end of the season.

Although Charleroi were given the option of signing him after his loan deal, it is believed that AC Milan are in pole position for his signature and the club have already mapped out plans for his arrival which include a loan spell with French Ligue 1 side Lille.
