Nigeria U23 striker Taiwo Awoniyi increased his goal count for the season to 14 in all competitions with a brace for Mouscron in their 2-4 loss to Waasland-Beveren in the Belgium playoff.
The on loan Liverpool forward struck in the 34th and 71st minute with his first goal giving his side the lead while the second helped them bring the scores to 2-2 before eventually losing 2-4.
Awoniyi who signed fresh terms with Liverpool in the summer now has 11 goals in the league in Belgium with seven coming during the regular season and four during the play off. He also scored in the Europa League qualifiers for Gent, where he spent the first half of the season on loan.
His two other goals this season came in the Beker Van Belgie popularly known as the Belgium Cup and as expected teams in Europe have queued up with offers to sign him from Liverpool.
Liverpool are however not in any hurry to trade the forward and will first of all try to secure him a work permit before deciding on loaning him or selling him permanently.
German side Schalke 04 have already had talks with Liverpool, same can be said of Italian Serie A side Lazio and French Ligue 1 side Nice who are also interested in the forward who has spent three seasons away on loan from Liverpool.
