Innocent Bonke has been rewarded for his man of the match display against Gothenburg with a spot in the Swedish league team of the week after the 9th round of games, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Bonke picked up the man of the match award in what was his first start this season as Malmo consolidated their strong start and leadership position with a 0-0 draw against IFK Gothenburg.
The 23 year old was picked as part of a midfield four after the 9th round of games by Studioallsvenskan for his performance, something which comes as a surprise considering the fact that the game was his first of the season.

Last season he played 15 games for Malmo and his performance placed him on the radar of the senior national team of Nigeria with coach Gernot Rohr reportedly keen on having him in his squad after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He turned down a big money move to Kazakhstan before the start of the season and recent reports suggest that he is on the radar of some teams in the Chinese Super League ( CSL).
