Out of favour Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Obiora Nwankwo scored the only goal for Portuguese side Boavista in their last game of the season to hand them a 1-0 win away to Maritimo.
Nwankwo scored the games only goal with a well placed effort from outside the box in the 30th minute to hand his team all three points and also secured them the 8th spot in the Portuguese top flight.
The goal was the third of the season for the 27 year old who was a part of the Nigerian team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations but hasn’t played for Nigeria for the past three years.
Once on the books of Italian giants Inter Milan he has finally found consistency at Boavista with 15 appearances to his name this season this season despite missing most games due to injury.
Last season he played two games less and didn’t score a goal while turni‎ng out for Greek side Levadiakos in what was his only season at the club he joined after two years in Portugal with Academica.
