Super Eagles Fail To Break Down Zimbabwe In Pre AFCON Friendly

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a barren draw by Zimbabwe in a pre AFCON 2019 friendly played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Nigeria dominated the early exchanges with Paul Onuachu guilty of missing what would have been the opening goal of the game which Nigeria dominated.

Both teams went into the break at 0-0 and despite substitutions by both coaches the game still fail to produce a goal to break the deadlock although Nigeria dominated the game and created the better chances.

Ahmed Musa, Victor Osimhen and Jamilu Collins all came close to scoring before the end of the game which is Nigeria’s first friendly in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations with their next game scheduled to take place in Tunisia against Senegal. They will depart for Egypt after the game.
