Odion Ighalo showed his worth for the Super Eagles once again with the winner for Nigeria in their lone goal victory over Burundi in their first game at the ongoing AFCON 2019.
It took Ighalo less than ten minutes after replacing Paul Onuachu to show his worth for the Nigerian team as he finished off a nice back heel pass from Ola Aina to score the only goal of the game in the 77th minute.
His exclusion from the starting lineup came as a shock to many considering his form in the qualifiers where he finished as top scorer with nine goals and he once again showed his predatory instinct with the manner which he took his goal.
The win takes Nigeria top of the group before their other group opponents Guinea square up against Madagascar in the second game of the group where many view Nigeria and Guinea as favourites to progress.
