Details Of Super Eagles Training After Win Over Burundi – Kalu Back In Training, Osimhen Shines

The senior national team of Nigeria return to training yesterday after the 1-0 win over Burundi in their opening AFCON 2019 group game which place them top of the group after Guinea played out a 2-2 draw against Madagascar.

Coach Gernot Rohr rested players who played in the game with emphasis on players who were on the bench for the entire duration of the encounter which was decided in Nigeria’s favour by a 79th minute goal by Odion Ighalo.

As usual the team had the traditional warm up session before the coach divided them into two groups for a mild game among themselves for the session that lasted a little over an hour.

Top among the players who caught the eye was Victor Osimhen as he was very lively and showed signs of a player eager to prove to the coaches that he deserve to be given the chance to push for a spot in the team.

Henry Onyekuru was also lively and goalkeeper Francis Uzoho showed his ability to play as an outfield player by joining the rest of the team during the game rather than play in goal.

Bordeaux forward Samuel Kalu who slumped during the last training session before the game against Burundi was also back in training but didn’t take part as he continue to recover. However he will train with the team in their Monday’s session after getting the all clear from the CAF medical team.
