Samuel Kalu returned to training this morning with the senior national team of Nigeria putting to bed fears that he suffered from a heart attack on the eve of Nigeria’s opening game against Burundi.
Kalu slumped unchallenged during training and was subsequently rushed to a clinic where he regained consciousness but had to undergo tests by the medical team of CAF before he was given the all clear to return to training.
Yesterday he watched the team train but in today’s session he was actively involved in all the drills proving right the report that he suffered from dehydration and not the much talked about heart attack.
Owngoalnigeria.com witnessed the session which lasted close to two hours with all players bar the injured duo of Shehu Abdullahi and Jamilu Collins taking part under the watchful eyes of coach Gernot Rohr.
Henry Onyekuru was the star man of the session, ghosting past his markers with ease and picking up his passes comfortably before capping his performance with a well taken strike for the team he played for during the session.
Samuel Chukwueze was once again unplayable but got stuck when he came up against Moses Simon who operated from the left full back position of the B team but in an advanced role as a wingback but played very deep.
