Ahead of the Super Eagles of Nigeria final group game against Madagascar at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the team had their penultimate training for the game.
Already through to the ‎next round of the tournament, the team still trained like they have all to play for ahead of the Madagascar game with coach Gernot Rohr putting them through their paces for the session that lasted for two hours.
During the session, recently signed Charleroi striker Victor Osimhen who suffered an injury scare two days ago showed the form that saw him score over 20 goals last season by scoring four goals for the team he played for during the session as he continue his push for his debut in the tournament.
Samuel Kalu who was introduced primarily to run down the clock against Guinea in the Super Eagles last group game is fully recovered from the slump he suffered in training before the first game against Burundi and the way he was gliding past his markers will no doubt put him in the frame to start against Madagascar.
Moses Simon who started and impressed against Guinea continued his fine form in training with another near perennial display which he capped with a well hit effort past Ikechukwu Ezenwa. His ability to use his pace to devastating effect and also defend to give his team balance makes him one of the most lively during the session.
Pushing for a spot in the starting lineup, John Ogu did his case a whole lot of good with a solid showing in midfield although he started the session as a central defender. Looks likely to start against Madagascar with Wilfred Ndidi set to be given a rest.
