Per the training of the Super Eagles of Nigeria it appears the team will still play the 4-2-3-1 formation they used in prosecuting the group games and not the 3-5-2 as widely mentioned, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Coach Gernot Rohr was widely expected to switch to a 3-5-2 formation for the game after the team failed to click with the 4-2-3-1 style during the group stages but the coach still has faith in the system it seems.
In training, the possibles were lined up in the 4-2-3-1 style and at no time did they coach break to try out the 3-5-2 formation although all that could change tomorrow when they will have their final training session ahead of the game.
The noticeable change in the team was Ola Aina playing in his preferred position as right back while Jamilu Collins trained unscathed for the first time since recovering from the groin injury that kept him out of the group stages of the tournament.
Aina has filled in for Collins at left back but with the return of the Paderborn defender to full training the coach reverted him to his position while Collins occupied the left full back slot.
