The senior national team of Nigeria had their final training session today ahead of their AFCON 2019 quarter final game against Bafana Bafana of South Africa tomorrow.
Owngoalnigeria.com as usual obtained details of the training session which for the first time had all 23 players in attendance under the watchful eyes of coach of the team Gernot Rohr and the rest of his technical crew.
Captain of the team John Obi Mikel and regular right back Shehu Abdullahi trained unscathed after their recovery from the injuries they suffered during the tournament further increasing the options available for selection to the coach.
During the session, the coach exper‎imented a new role for Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze by playing him behind the striker and he responded with a solid display capped with a well taken goal.
Chukwueze wasn’t the only player who impressed during the session as Ahmed Musa also showed the brilliance that he showed during the World Cup in Russia with a curled effort from range. He looks set to continue in his role on the left side of attack.
