Back in form Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho will be handed the chance to once again prove himself with the Super Eagles of Nigeria after missing out on a spot in the squad to the 2019 AFCON due to poor form.
He appear to be on his way back to the same form that made him an instant hit with Manchester City in his breakthrough season at the Etihad with four goals to his name so far in five pre season games for Leicester City.
Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is still keen on talking Odion Ighalo out of international retirement but with the striker set to miss two months due to injury, Iheanacho has been handed his spot as the top striker for the team when they play their next set of games.
” I see he (Iheanacho) is now professional in the way he trains and play in games. I have been speaking with him and from the way he is performing in pre season he will be back with us”, Rohr said.
” He is a part of the team and he knows it. When next we have a game he will get his chance to prove himself because we believe in him and we’ll be happy to have him back”.
