Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has completed a €14m move to French Ligue 1 side Lille from Belgium side Charleroi, where he spent last season on loan from Wolfsburg before they made his signing permanent last month.
As first reported by this portal, the 21 year old snubbed a move to Italian Serie A side Atalanta in favour of a move to Lille as he is sure to get playing time with the French side following the exit of Nicolas Pepe.
Lille paid Charleroi €12m but will add €2m in bonus making him the club’s joint highest signing behind Thiago Maia who joined the club two years ago for same price like Osimhen when the bonus included in the deal is factored in.
Charleroi also has 20% of his future sale if he is transferred from the French side during the course of his five year contract at the club where he will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
At Lille, 20 year old Osimhen will be hoping to match or better his last season tally of 21 goals in all competitions last season in Belgium while on loan from Wolfsburg.
