David Okereke has taken to life in the Belgium top flight really quick following his third goal in two games with his brace against Sint Truiden yesterday for Club Brugge in their 6- 0 win.
Signed from second division Italian side Spezia, the Nigeria U23 forward grabbed his brace within a space of five minutes in the 15th and 20th minute respectively before setting up South Africa forward Percy Tau for the 4th goal for his team.
He lasted 65 minutes before he was substituted to a standing ovation, a sign of how well he has warmed himself into the hearts of the fans in just two league games at the club.
His Nigerian and U23 teammate Dennis Bonaventure wasn’t left out of the goal spree as he also got himself on the score sheet in the 72nd minute to follow up the assist he provided for Okereke’s first goal.
Okereke made the headline when he was signed for a record €8m, the biggest fee paid by Club Brugge the past 8 years but so far, the 21 year old has proven himself to be a bargain buy with three goals and one assist in just two games.
