The senior national team of Nigeria will regroup in September for their first assignment since the end of the Africa Cup of Nations when they take on Ukraine in a friendly game.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Amaju Pinnick confirmed the news on his social media handle while speaking on events in the past one months where the Super Eagles rise 12 spots in the FIFA rankings.
Pinnick said the game will be played on the 10th of September in Kiev as part of the ongoing drive of the Federation to expose players of the Nigerian national team to global standards which will be the spring board for young players.
” Finally, we have secured a Grade A international friendly match for the Super Eagles against the Ukraine in Kiev, on the 10th of September. It is part of our on-going drive to expose as many players as we can to global football, so this should be another springboard for our young stars” Pinnick posted on his twitter handle.
“I’d like to personally thank my colleagues on the board of the Nigeria Football Federation for their continued support. I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with. They truly make the job easier”.
The game will afford the coaches of the Super Eagles the opportunity to try some new players ahead of the start of qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
