FIFA Slam Life Ban On Former Super Eagles Coach Samson Siasia Over Match-Fixing

World football governing body FIFA has place a lifetime ban on former coach of the Nigeria U20, 23 and senior national team Samson Siasia after investigations revealed that he was guilty of match fixing.

Siasia according to a press release from FIFA has been under investigation since February 2019 as part of an extensive investigation into match fixing involving Mr Wilson Raj Perumal of Singapore who has been found guilty of fixing games.

The press release made public earlier today also carried a fine of CHF 50,000 fine slammed on Siasia aside the ban and already he has been communicated of the ban.

It’s still unclear if the allegation is in relation to his time as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria or that of the youth teams he handled in the past like the U20, where he was twice coach same as the U23s. He also coached the Super Eagles on two different occasions and the team failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations during his two different stints.
