Nigeria youth international defender Lukman Zakari has joined Spanish Laliga side Real Betis on a three year deal from FS Metta of Latvia, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The defender who was ever present for the Nigeria U17 team of 2015 in their run up to lifting the World Youth Championship spent a week on trial before finally signing the deal earlier today.

Zakari impressed the technical crew of Real Betis and the deal will see him start from the B team of the Laliga side where he will be monitored for possible promotion to the first team.
While at Latvia 20 year old Zakari was a constant feature in the team of the week in his first season at the club with his ability to score goals from his role as a defender helping him to stand out. Last month he nearly joined Israeli side MS Ashdod before the offer to join Real Betis came up.
A little over a year ago, a move to CAF Champions League winners Esperance fell through as Metta couldn’t agree a deal with the Latvian side before the close of the transfer window in Tunisia.
