Former Seattle Sounders 2 leftback Ibrahim Usman has cemented his spot in the starting lineup of relegated French Ligue 2 side GFC Ajaccio with three consecutive games under his belt.
The left fullback who narrowly missed out on a spot in the Nigeria U20 team for the World Youth Championship which took place in Poland has so far played in two league games out of the three games the team has played this season.
GFC Ajaccio were deducted a point aside forfeiting all three points when they refuse to play their first league game in protest of their relegation to the third tier in France.
In their first league game at home Usman had a goal disallowed for offside even though replays showed otherwise as his side fell to a 0-1 defeat at home to Avranches in a bad tempered game which ended with both teams having just ten men on the pitch.
He picked up from where he left off in their Coupe de la Ligue game with an impressive showing as they claim a morale boosting 2-0 win over Ligue 2 side Chambly. SC Toulon were their opponent in the next game and as usual he started and made a good impression.
His impressive performance has not gone unnoticed by fans of the team who have taken to him in what is his first season in Europe after his one year stint in the USA with Seattle Sounders 2.
