The U20 team of Nigeria are one point away from entering the medal zone of the ongoing All Africa Games taking place in Rabat Morocco after their 2-1 win over South Africa in their second group game played yesterday.

Ahead of their final group match against host Morocco, the boys of coach Paul Aigbogun have so far bagged four points from two games as they drew 1-1 with Burkina Faso before yesterday’s win against South Africa.

Ahmed Ghali – ‎Not many knew that he was dropped from the team that went to the U20 World Youth Championship shortly before they left to Poland from their training camp in Germany.

Ghali has put aside the disappointment and he is well on course to be voted the most valuable player of the tournament and presently he is the top scorer in the Nigerian team and also in the tournament with two goals.

Ibrahim “Babawo ” Abubakar – Finally delivering on the promise that made them tag him the new Ahmed Musa. He has two assist so far and in his role as captain he has motivated the players with his all round performance during games.

Success Makanjuola – Still remain one of the brightest talent in the team. Can dribble, shoot and also tackle. Success is now a huge fan favorite during games due to his explosive nature when on the ball. Looks very much a star in the making.

Saheed Jibril – Yet to score but by far very impressive particularly when it comes to taking out his man in one on one situation. He has also proven to be deadly and reliable from set piece situation.

Emeka Chinonso – A rare choice because he only played as a substitute but his ability to hold on to possession and bring others into play even under pressure earned him a spot. Looks very promising and with more game time he will surely blossom.

Peter Eletu – The catalyst in the team as he usually pull the string for the players ahead of him to operate and also provide shield for the back four. Has very good range of passes and his composure when in possession is an asset many players wish they have.
