Nigeria U20 and U23 defender Valentine Ozornwafor has agreed a season long loan move to Spanish second division side Almeria from Galatasaray, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Both clubs are thrashing out terms of the agreement but the 19 year old has already given his approval to the move that will aid his development following his move to the Turkish giants in the summer.
Ozornwafor joined Galatasaray from Nigeria league champions Enyimba but the club believe he need to play regularly to aid his development and Almeria will be perfect for him to get regular run of games.
Turkish second division side Bursaspor are also rumoured to be interested in his services following their relegation but Ozornwafor is keen on a move to Spain instead of taking a step down to the second division to get game time.
He was named in the CAF Best XI players at the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations but injury stopped him from making same impression at the U20 World Youth Championship in Poland. He only played two group games for Nigeria due to the injury picked up against the United States of America.
For the Nigeria U23 he was drafted to the team from the senior national team and played a pivotal role in helping them beat Libya 4-0 to overturn a 0-2 deficit suffered in the first leg and sealed qualification to the next round where they will take on Sudan.
