The draws for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League was done today with teams grouped into eight different groups for the 2019/2020 edition of UEFA premier club competition.
In all of the groups only group B had teams without a player eligible to play for the senior national team of Nigeria as every other group has team with Nigerian players on their books.
Denis Bonaventure and David Okereke will fly the Nigerian flag in group A when Club Brugge take on the likes of Real Madrid. PSG and Galatasaray for a spot in the knockout round of the tournament.
Former Nigeria U23 player Iyayi Atiemwien Believe will campaign with Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb who are in Group C with Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City and Atalanta.
Bryan Idowu who plays for Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow will be hoping for better fortunes when they campaign in Group D against Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Leverkusen while the duo of Paul Onuachu and Stephen Odey represents the interest of Nigerian players in Group E, where Genk are grouped alongside Liverpool, Napoli and Salzburg.
Group F has Slavia Prague where Peter Olayinka plays and they are up against Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan with Tyronne Ebuehi’s team Benfice in group G alongside Zenit, Lyon and RB Leipzig where Ademola Lookman who could yet switch allegiance to Nigeria plays.
The last group which is H has Victor Osimhen and his new team Lille where he has scored four goals in three games this season and they are up against Ajax, Valencia and Chelsea.
