The drag for the international future of Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham will ‎become clearer very soon according to the president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Amaju Pinnick.

Abraham was once announced to have switched allegiance to Nigeria but the England youth international quickly distanced himself from the report which was on the website of the NFF by releasing a statement where he reaffirmed his commitment to England.

Although he has since represented England in two games he is still eligible to play for Nigeria something he confirmed by saying he is open to the idea of representing Nigeria, insisting he hasn’t close the door yet.

The decision of the coach of England Gareth Southgate to leave the striker who has scored four goals this season for Chelsea in the English Premier League further made it possible for Nigeria to once again push for his services.

According to the NFF President Pinnick, the striker will make his decision next year when they hope to have talks with him although reports in England suggest he would have represented England by then as he is in line to be called up for the next round of international matches in October.

“But like you know, these kids are very independent minded. In fact, we have been told to wait until April 2020, when he [Abraham] hopes to make a final decision on the matter.

“I told him that he stood a better chance of playing regularly for Nigeria than with England, which has a galaxy of strikers of the English stock”, Pinnick explained .
