Coach of the Nigeria U17 team Manu Garba has praised the quality of his present U17 team who are taking part in an invitational tournament in Turkey ahead of the U17 World Youth Championship in Brazil later this year.
Nigeria U17 won their first game 2-0 with Olakunle Olusegun and Divine Nwachukwu scoring the goals for the Nigerians who are going to be up against Guatemala in their next group game.
Describing the talents in the team, the coach explained that the way they have improved base on the tournaments they have played has really impressed him.
” We didn’t play top friendly games in camp before heading to the WAFU B Championship where we finished as winners to qualify for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations. During the tournament some players improved before the final game.
” At the Africa U17 Cup of Nations more players picked up during the tournament and of course it helped us to qualify for the World Youth Championship and from the two invitational tournaments we have played, I have seen lot of improvement.
“More than anything else I have seen some really special talents in this team. Many of them will no doubt have a very stable career in the future if they work hard and make the right career decisions “, the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com.
