Leicester City assistant coach Chris Davies says the Kelechi Iheanacho proved his goal scoring instinct is still very much alive with the manner which he took his goal in their 4-0 win over Luton Town in the Carabao Cup.
On for his first game of the season with twenty minutes left to play in the game, the Nigerian had a hand in the third goal scored by his team before finishing clinically with a lobbed effort to wrap up a convincing win for the Foxes.
His finish brought memories of his calmness in front of goal during his days at Manchester City, same ability earned him a move to the Premier League champions after starring for Nigeria at the 2013 U17 World Youth Championship.
Speaking on his goal, Davies said the Nigerian has goals in him and it’s no surprise the way he took his goal yesterday in his first game of the season.
” Iheanacho has goals in him. He is very calm in the box. It’s normal to be excited for him and hopefully he will come good in subsequent games with this goal as it is good for his confidence “, Davies told LCFC TV after the game.
