The Nigeria U17 team ended their campaign at the UEFA / CAF invitational tournament on a not too impressive note as they were beaten 4-2 by Senegal in their final game of the tournament, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Nigeria took the lead in the first half through top scorer Olakunle Olusegun who was scoring his third goal in as many games at the tournament after finding the back of the net against host Turkey and later Guatemala.

It soon became 2-0 to Nigeria when Senegal scored an own goal but scores was reduced to 2-1 when a defender of the Nigerian team inexplicably diverted a cross into the net as both teams head for the half time break.

In the second half, Senegal extended their lead with a well placed header before scoring another from close range to seal a comfortable win for the Senegalese who were also victorious over the Nigerians at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament in Turkey is meant to prepare both teams for their campaign at the FIFA U17 World Youth Championship in Brazil later this year.
