Villarreal rising star Samuel Chukwueze has put in a word for his international teammate Lukman Zakari who recently joined the B team of fellow Laliga side Real Betis, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Zakari made a surprise summer move to Real Betis from Latvia side FS Metta. He is expected to start from the B team of the team from where his progress will be monitored for promotion to the first team.
Administrative issues particularly regarding the issuance of a work permit is why he is yet to make his debut but Chukwueze who played with Zakari at U17 level insist the club have in their hands one of the best players he played with at U17 level enroute lifting the 2015 U17 World Youth Championship.
” The forward players get all the credits and sometimes the midfielders but in the team we know that the likes of Zakari in the defence made it easy for our goals at the other end to count in favour of our team”, Chukwueze revealed.
” Our style was to play from the back and Zakari was very useful in that regard. He is a defender who uses the ball very well, reads and intercept play with ease. We something mock him because of how he plays as a forward player. He is very good at long range passes as well”.
