Sunusi Ibrahim Tops Rohr’s Scouting List For WAFU Cup After Excelling For U23s, CHAN Qualifiers

Nasarawa United striker Sunusi Ibrahim who finished as top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) last season could be handed a chance with the Super Eagles if he impresses at the WAFU Championship.

Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the forward who will be 17 in October has been mentioned to coach Gernot Rohr as one of the exciting talents in the team following his exploits with the U23s and later the CHAN Eagles in the CHAN Qualifiers where they lost 1-4 to Togo.

Sunusi is expected to line up for the Eagles B team later today in their first game ‎against Togo with Rohr detailing his scouts to put a close eye on the forward who has been compared to former Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi due to his all action style.

Rohr who is keen on giving young players a chance is particularly interested in Sunusi ahead of any other player in the squad of Nigeria for the WAFU tournament picked by his first assistant Imama Amapakabo.
