Per a source close to Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen who has been scoring goals for fun for French Ligue 1 side Lille, the talks of a potential move to Chelsea is way concrete than initially thought, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Osimhen was watched by scouts of the Premier League side while in action for Lille against Strasbourg, a game which he scored to take his tally to six goals and top of the scorers chart in France.
The summer signing from Belgium side Charleroi has carried his form from last season where he scored 21 goals while on loan into the season and as expected has caught the attention of top teams in Europe.
Chelsea are rumoured to be the first club to register an interest in the 20 year old and their banking on their good relationship with Lille to make the deal happen after receiving a positive recommendation from their legend Didier Drogba.
According to a source close to Osimhen, Drogba has tracked the career of Osimhen since the forward named him as his mentor in 2015 when he took the U17 World Youth Championship by storm as Nigeria stroll to the title.
His form for last season put him in the spotlight once again after struggling for 18 months in Germany with Wolfsburg and that has brought about interest in his service and his age suits the rebuilding going on at Chelsea under new manager Frank Lampard.
