Former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot says Chelsea will do well to put an eye on Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen when they take on Lille today in the UEFA Champions League.
Both teams are looking for their first win of the tournament making today’s game one that they both can’t afford to lose and according to Melchiot, the key to Chelsea achieving a good result lies in how they keep an eye on Lille’s summer signing Osimhen.
The Nigerian has six goals in the first seven games of the season making him the top scorer in Ligue 1 with links also emerging about a possible move to Chelsea when the transfer ban imposed on them by FIFA is lifted.
” He (Osimhen) has a very high work rate and runs the channel brilliantly for his team. His finish is sometimes erratic but he is still deadly in the box. Chelsea will do well to keep an eye on him during the game”, Melchiot said during his preview of the game.
