Former Nigeria U23 forward Sadiq Umar continued his fine run of form in front of goal for Serbian side Partizan Beograd with a brace to hand them a 2-1 win over FC Astana in the Europa League, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Sadiq who finished as top scorer for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics with four goals opened scoring for his team in the 29th minute after picking himself up from an aerial duel to smash home a low strike from inside the box.

Sixteen minute to the end of the game, he was once again the quickest to react to a loose ball sent back into the box from a corner kick to put his team two goals up before their host pull a goal back with five minutes left to play.

The goal increased his goal count for the season to seven goals in nine games with five of his other goals coming in the league and it include a brace last week against Radnicki Nis which helped his team to a 4-1 win.

After an unhappy time on loan to Scottish side Rangers last season he moved to Serie B side Perugia in January after terminating his stay in Scotland but ended up scoring just thrice in 13 games.

Now on loan to Partizan Beograd from Roma, the 22 year old is delivering on the promises that made him a big hit at Roma three seasons ago. So far his tally of five goals has equalled his best ever scoring season which came in the Netherlands while on loan to NAC Breda.
