Fit-Again Ebuehi Eyes Reclaiming Right Back Spot Following Late Invitation For Brazil Friendly

Benfica of Portugal right full back Tyronne Ebuehi has been handed a late call up to the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for their upcoming friendly game against Brazil, the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) has announced.

Ebuehi back to full fitness and has even played in two games for the U23s of Benfica without suffering any setback from the surgery he had due to the anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up upon his ‎signing from ADO Den Haag.

The Dutch-Nigerian defender will take the place of Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo who has been ruled out of the team due to injury and Ebuehi will be focus on reclaiming his spot as first choice right fullback.

He played the role to the amazement of all at the last World Cup but in his absence the likes of Shehu Abdullahi, the player he displaced, Chidozie Awaziem and Ola Aina have all impressed.

Aina played impressed in the 2-2 draw against Ukraine while Awaziem held the position down during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, Shehu started the tournament as right back before getting injured in the first game.
