22 year old Dutch-Nigerian wing forward Arnaut Danjuma was certain he was going to play for Nigeria at international level but his dream died the moment he was called up to the Dutch national team, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Danjuma is yet to get going at his new team Bournemouth following his move from Club Brugge where ‎he was teammate with Nigerian forward Dennis Emmanuel Bonaventure last season.

The forward according to reports exclusively gathered by our editorial team was confident of a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria after a fine start to his career when he moved to Club Brugge in 2018.

We gathered his agent even sent a mail to one of the assistants of coach Gernot Rohr of the Super Eagles about his client’s willingness to represent Nigeria but the mail went unreplied amidst reports that Rohr was satisfied with the wingers at his disposal.

Few months later he was called up to the Dutch U21 and played in an friendly game which still means he won’t be needing any process to switch allegiance to Nigeria but once again he was snubbed until the eve of his call up to the Dutch national team.

Rohr contacted Danjuma 72 hours after the Netherlands did and he decided to take his chance with the land he has spent the best part of his life even though he was born in Nigeria to a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother.
