Coach of Osasuna Jagoba Arrasate has heaped praises on his defenders for their performance in the comeback 2-1 win against Villarreal yesterday in the Laliga, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Villarreal took the lead courtesy of central defender Pau Torres before Osasuna rallied back with goals from Facundo Roncaglia and Ezequiel Avila to grab all three points on offer at the Estadio El Sadar.
The manner which Osasuna managed to keep Villarreal forward trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Tarl Toko Ekambi and Gerard Moreno quiet was the major high point of Osasuna’s display and Arrasate says his defenders interpreted his tactics with ease.
” We know they like to play with pace in attack because Chukwueze, Moreno and Ekambi are really quick. Without getting balls they can do less, so we have our fullbacks on them to deny them. Chukwueze was pressed by our fullbacks and midfielders making it hard for him but easy for us”, the coach said.
The coach said his team will build on the win and hopefully after the international break they will pick up more wins to meet their target for the season.
