The 1-1 draw Nigeria secured against Brazil would have been a win for the Nigerian team according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Nigeria took the lead in the 35th minute courtesy of a goal from Joe Aribo but Brazil cancelled the scores five minutes into the second half when Casemiro scored to draw them level.
The game ended in a draw and after the game the coach of the Nigerian team was asked if he believe his team did enough to win the game and if they had won, if it would have been a true reflection of the game.
” We deserve to win but the draw is fair. The way we approached the game is with the mindset of winning it. So if we had won it would have been a fair result on our part that we deserve. Brazil also had chances to win it”, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Nigeria used the game as part of their preparations for their upcoming AFCON 2020 qualifiers next month and Rohr said he has seen some players who can help in the game when it’s time.
” Two high profile friendly games has taught us a thing or two about some players and also the strength of the team. We hope to correct the errors noticed when we play again in November “.
