Moses Simon has taken a swipe at the organisers of the Golden Boy award for omitting Samuel Chukwueze from the final list of players selected for the award, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Golden Boy award is organized by Italian publication Tuttosport and awarded to the best footballer under the age of 21 playing in Europe and Chukwueze was earlier shortlisted for the award.

He was however not among the final 20 players shortlisted earlier today by the organisers of the award and that has prompted a response from Simon who said Chukwueze did more than enough to warrant a spot in the final 20 man list.

According to Simon, Chukwueze’s performance for Villarreal last season is comparable to a diamond and probably that explains why he wasn’t listed for the award which is for players at the level of gold.

” It’s a surprise that is hard to explain. The only thing I can say is that his performance last season for Villarreal is in the form of diamond while the award is for gold. He’s probably above the level. So no qualms”, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com.
