Bordeaux of France Nigerian wing forward Samuel Kalu says the Super Eagles of Nigeria didn’t miss his presence in the 1-1 draw they had against Brazil on Sunday in an international friendly played in Singapore.

Kalu was ruled out of the game after picking up an injury while on duty for his clubside. Many believed his absence made the Super Eagles a man light in attack owing to the explosive way he combined with Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen in the 2-2 draw against Ukraine last month.

In his absence, coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr deployed Moses Simon in his position and the Bordeaux winger has backed the performance of his former Gent teammate ‎in the game where Simon grabbed the assist for Nigeria’s goal scored by Joe Aribo.

” I really don’t think my presence would have changed the scoreline. Many people want to see me play alongside Victor and Chukwueze but that’s not going to be possible all the time because the team has talent in almost every position. Simon played in my place and you can’t fault him”, Kalu told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Personally he was one of the best player when he was on the pitch. I know I would have offered help but without me the team did very well to get a result against a very good team like Brazil “.
