The number of players in the camp of the Nigeria U17 team in Brazil preparing for the World Youth Championship has increased following the arrival of players born abroad, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Coach Manu Garba left Nigeria with a squad of 25 players for a pre tournament camp in Brazil and three friendly games before the start of the U17 World Youth Championship in the country.

However the players in the camp of the team now has risen to as high as 30 following the arrival of players who were not in the initial list of players. The players are children of Nigerian descent living outside the shores of the country.

” Around 30 players are in the camp now training ahead of the naming of the final squad of 23 players. The number increased because some players born abroad came to the camp to try out. We can’t stop them, they are Nigerians as well”, a team source told Owngoalnigeria.com.

It would be recalled that same issue happened with the Nigeria U20 team when they had their training camp in Germany before the start of the U20 World Youth Championship in Poland.
