Former Super Eagles of Nigeria and Chelsea defender Celestine Babayaro says Joe Aribo deserve to be playing for a league higher than the Scottish League after two dazzling display for the senior national team of Nigeria.
Aribo marked his international debut for Nigeria with a goal against Ukraine last month and he made it two goals in two for Nigeria with another against Brazil on Sunday in the Super Eagles 1-1 draw.
Speaking on the back of his performance against the two teams, Babayaro told Owngoalnigeria.com that he has seen enough of the former Charlton man to judge his abilities which to him his above the level of the Scottish Premier League.
Even though he only joined Rangers this summer from Charlton where he helped them gain promotion to the Championship from League One in England, Babayaro believe he can still push for a move at the end of this season.
” Hard to believe he is playing in Scotland. What is he doing there?. A player of his ability should be playing in a top league where he will be tested and that will lead to improvement. I really think he need to push for a move at the end of the season. Not like the SPL is bad but the level isn’t for his type of talent”, Babayaro told Owngoalnigeria.com.
