The Nigeria U17 team won their second pre U17 World Youth Championship game with a 4-2 win over South Korea with forward Olakunle Olusegun hitting a brace, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Divine Nwachukwu gave Nigeria the lead in the 6th minute with a well placed header but four minutes later Oh Jaehyeok draw the Koreans level from the spot.
Korea went ahead few minutes to the halftime break courtesy of Choi Minseo but Olusegun ensured both teams head into the half time break level when he drew Nigeria level one minute after failing behind.
The ABS teen star continued from where he left off in the second half with a goal four minutes from time before Charles Etim scored a curler from the edge of the box to give the Nigerians an unassailable 4-2 lead.
Kunle has now scored five of the last seven goals scored by the team in preparation for the tournament which starts on Saturday but coach of the team Manu Garba is however pleased with 15 year old Nwachukwu who scored the first goal for Nigeria.
” Kunle scoring goals is not a surprise to me and the rest of the technical crew but Nwachukwu has taken us by surprise with his improvement over the years. He was very shy when he first joined us from the U15 but his talent has never been in doubt. We are happy that he is now converting chances he was missing when he first joined us”, Manu told Owngoalnigeria.com.
