Former Super Eagles defence hardman Taribo West is of the opinion that Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi won’t be at English Championship side West Bromwich Albion for long owing to the way he has settled down in the team.
Ajayi also replicated his form for the Baggies with the senior national team of Nigeria with two strong showings in the friendly games against Ukraine and Brazil respectively. Effectively sealing his spot as the first choice partner for William Troost-Ekong in the heart of the defence of Nigeria.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com, West who made his mark in Italy in the 90’s while at Inter-Milan said Ajayi will get a big move soon if he continue to progress the way he is at the moment particularly with the senior national team of Nigeria.
” I like his confidence on the ball. He sometimes tend to get carried away with the ball at his feet but overall he is very good in reading play and making interceptions. The way he position himself makes it easy but it truly isn’t easy as it seems’, West said.
” He won’t stay long in the English Championship. With all due respect to West Brom I think he will leave them soon if he continue to play the way he did with the senior national team of Nigeria unless they gain promotion to the English Premier League “.
