Super Eagles of Nigeria still need the services of former Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa despite the fact that they have coped really well in his absence according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr.

Nigeria scored twice against Ukraine and once against Brazil in the two friendly games they have played without their captain and many have suggested that it will be hard for the Al-Nassr forward to reclaim his spot in the team.

In his absence the trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Samuel Kalu and Victor Osimhen were deadly as the front three in attack against Ukraine while Moses Simon who came in for Kalu against Brazil did very well with the assist for the lone goal scored by the Nigeria.

Despite the above Rohr is adamant that Musa is still needed in the team and hopefully will be back in the squad for the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively.

” Musa has experience in big games. He scores vital goals and he is our captain, hopefully he will be available for us in November for the AFCON Qualifiers game. We coped without him against Ukraine and Brazil respectively but we still need his experience and ability in the team”.
